An Istanbul weekend and a month visiting family need different data budgets. Start with how much data you expect to use, then compare the same allowance and validity. A shorter trip does not automatically make a shorter-validity package better value.

Horizon costs less at each of these three matched allowances. At 10 GB, the difference from Nomad's displayed sale price is €7.41 (€11.33 − €3.92). That compares package prices, not signal quality, and includes the competitor's public discount.
A weekend versus a longer family visit
For a short trip with maps, messages and hotel Wi-Fi, check your recent phone usage before buying a larger pool. Horizon also listed 5 GB / 7 days at €1.99 on the Turkey page: saving €0.07 against 30-day validity. Airalo's 5 GB / 7-day option was €8.00. These shorter plans have the same total allowance as their respective 5 GB / 30-day options but expire sooner.
For a longer visit, moving from Horizon 5 GB to 10 GB / 30 days adds €1.86. Moving from 10 GB to 20 GB adds €3.74. Larger uploads, video and laptop use can justify more data; the number of days alone cannot determine the right allowance. Use the Turkey data-sizing guide to estimate your own use.
Set up before you fly
Saily's Turkey page specifically warns that access to its app may be limited in Turkey because of local restrictions, and advises setup before travel. Complete installation with reliable internet before departure and save the provider's instructions. This is an access warning from Saily, not evidence that an already installed eSIM will stop working.

When Turkey is one stop on a Balkan route
Horizon's checked Balkans package includes Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria and several other Balkan destinations. Its 10 GB / 30-day price was €11.68, compared with €3.92 for Turkey alone. The extra €7.76 buys a regional allowance across the listed countries; compare that with the cost of separate country purchases for your actual route.
Kosovo is not included in that Balkans package. You can add Horizon Kosovo eSIM through a separate purchase with its own data allowance and cost. Check each border crossing against the live coverage list rather than assuming a regional name includes every stop.
Unlimited phone data is a different choice
Holafly's Turkey page lists 7 days of unlimited data at US$27.50 in its USD duration table. It allows 1 GB per day of hotspot sharing and describes temporary network fair-use speed reductions. This differs from a 30-day fixed pool in allowance, duration and currency, so it is not a like-for-like savings comparison.
Heavy phone use may make an unlimited package useful. For a laptop, compare the sharing limit with your workload first. The Horizon catalog currently lists Vodafone Turkey and Türk Telekom; a listed network does not guarantee reception or speed at every address.
Hotspot and instant support
Horizon supports hotspot on every plan; your phone and connected devices share the purchased allowance. Airalo allows tethering where the device and network support it. Nomad supports sharing but notes that stability can depend on the device and local network. Saily's country page lists no hotspot restrictions.
Horizon includes instant support for installation, mobile-data settings and connection questions. Check device compatibility, make sure your phone is unlocked, and install with a stable internet connection before departure.
