Italy eSIM comparison: Rome, Florence and Venice
Популярные пакеты: Италия

An Italy trip with several train journeys needs mobile data between the places where accommodation Wi-Fi is available. Buying for Rome, Florence and Venice does not require three city eSIMs. This comparison uses Italy-wide 5 GB and 10 GB allowances with 30-day validity and separates unlimited products from fixed-data bundles.

Prices checked 19 September 2026. Horizon includes instant support; current prices and availability are on the linked plan pages.

Matched fixed-data prices

  • Horizon: 5 GB / 30 days €2.45; 10 GB / 30 days €4.72.
  • Nomad: 5 GB / 30 days €9.58; 10 GB / 30 days €16.12.
  • Airalo: 5 GB / 30 days €11.00; 10 GB / 30 days €17.00.
  • Saily: 5 GB / 30 days €11.49; 10 GB / 30 days €18.49.

Horizon has the lowest price among the fixed-data offers above for both allowances. At 10 GB / 30 days, it is €11.40 below Nomad, the next-lowest listed price, a 70.7% reduction. This is a comparison of the displayed package totals; it does not establish better signal or identical coverage.

One allowance for a trip through several cities

A country plan suits a route that stays in Italy, whether you spend most days in Rome or move between Florence, Venice and the coast. Decide how much data you need by considering the whole trip, including navigation and messages on travel days. Pre-download large maps and entertainment when you have Wi-Fi.

At the checked prices, the difference between Horizon’s 5 GB and 10 GB / 30-day options is €2.27. That buys a larger total pool, without changing the 30-day validity. Splitting the 10 GB pool across a ten-day itinerary would average 1 GB a day, but you can use more on one day and less on another.

What happens on trains and ferries

A coverage list describes eligible countries, not a guarantee of uninterrupted service along every track. Tunnels, terrain and busy stations can change the connection. Save the next address and ticket offline so a temporary loss of signal does not interrupt the journey.

If you are taking a ferry to Croatia, Greece or Albania, check both shores separately and expect gaps at sea. The Italy plan is not a regional roaming pass. A Balkans plan may fit some onward countries but does not include Italy, while a Europe plan has a different country list. Check the actual itinerary rather than choosing by the regional name.

A laptop changes the data budget

Hotspot is included with Horizon plans and draws from the same fixed allowance. Before sharing data with a laptop, pause operating-system updates and cloud backups if you want to conserve that allowance. The advantage is control over a known pool; it is not an unlimited-work guarantee.

For daily video meetings or large file transfers, compare a larger bundle or an unlimited product, including any tethering limit. Holafly’s checked Italy page describes 1 GB per day of shared data, so unlimited handset data does not mean unlimited laptop data.

Help before the first train

Use Horizon’s instant support if you need help with installation or the mobile-data settings before leaving your arrival airport. Keep the eSIM profile installed while troubleshooting. Removing a profile can complicate recovery, so follow support’s instructions instead of repeatedly deleting and reinstalling. For a trip continuing north, see the Europe comparison.

How Holafly’s unlimited option compares

Holafly’s Italy product page published a 7-day unlimited plan at US$23.90 in its USD duration table. That is a different allowance, duration and currency from the fixed 30-day EUR offers above, so we do not calculate a percentage saving against it. Check the selected currency and trip length before checkout.

The page specifies 1 GB per day for hotspot sharing, and says network fair-use measures can temporarily reduce speed. Unlimited handset data may suit heavy phone use; it does not mean unlimited tethering or the same speed in every situation. Horizon’s fixed plans support hotspot using the purchased data pool.

Instant support with your Horizon plan

Horizon includes instant support for setup and connection questions. Use Horizon support if you need help installing the eSIM, selecting it for mobile data or understanding the plan before you travel. Keep your order details handy so the team can help with the right purchase.

Before buying, check device compatibility and that your phone is unlocked. Install with a stable internet connection, follow the plan’s activation instructions, and review the live Italy plans for the current price and coverage.

How the prices were checked

This is a Horizon-authored comparison. Research date: 19 September 2026. Editorial owner: Lurian Kasumaj. Fixed-plan prices are public EUR quotes from the providers’ own product pages, with 5 GB or 10 GB total data and 30-day validity. Public sale prices are included where labelled. Account rewards, subscriptions, affiliate coupons and first-order discounts are excluded. Regional country lists can differ even when allowance and validity match.

Every provider name in the comparison links to its source. Holafly’s separately reported USD quote is left in its published currency, without an exchange-rate conversion. Prices can change after this check; the linked product page and checkout take precedence. This research compares published offers and features, not measured network performance or support response times.
