USA eSIM comparison: travel data, hotspot and price
Forfaits populaires pour USA

The USA is large enough that a price comparison should be followed by a coverage check for your actual route. Start by matching the data allowance and validity, then consider hotspot use, a local phone number and travel outside the United States. Here are the checked 5 GB and 10 GB data-only prices for 30 days.

Prices checked 19 September 2026. Horizon includes instant support; current prices and availability are on the linked plan pages.

Matched fixed-data prices

  • Horizon: 5 GB / 30 days €5.27; 10 GB / 30 days €10.37.
  • Nomad: 5 GB / 30 days €13.94; 10 GB / 30 days €21.78.
  • Airalo: 5 GB / 30 days €12.00; 10 GB / 30 days €20.00.
  • Saily: 5 GB / 30 days €12.49; 10 GB / 30 days €20.49.

Horizon has the lowest price among the fixed-data offers above for both allowances. At 10 GB / 30 days, it is €9.63 below Airalo, the next-lowest listed price, a 48.2% reduction. This is a comparison of the displayed package totals; it does not establish better signal or identical coverage.

A city stay and a road trip use data differently

For a city stay, accommodation Wi-Fi can handle backups and media downloads while mobile data covers time outside. On a road trip, you may spend more of each day away from Wi-Fi and share the connection with another device. Estimate that combined usage instead of counting only the phone’s usual consumption.

Horizon’s 5 GB / 30-day option was €5.27 and its 10 GB option was €10.37 at this check. The difference is €5.10 for a larger total allowance. Download maps and essential bookings before remote stretches; a plan’s country coverage is not a guarantee of signal on every road or inside every park.

The 20 GB comparison has different expiry windows

Horizon’s checked 20 GB USA plan cost €20.56 with 90-day validity. Nomad listed 20 GB / 30 days at €31.36 on sale, Airalo at €32.50 and Saily at €32.99. Horizon costs less in that observed set and has a longer validity, but these are not identical-duration products. The 90-day plan is one 20 GB pool, not a monthly subscription or three separate allowances.

If your trip lasts much less than 30 days, the extra validity may have little value. If you will return within the plan’s window, it can matter. Check the activation terms and expiry shown for the actual plan before purchase rather than treating purchase date and service start as interchangeable.

Hotspot and an American number are separate questions

All Horizon plans support hotspot. A laptop or companion device uses the same purchased pool, so pause background updates if you want to preserve travel data. Holafly’s checked USA product describes unlimited handset data but 1 GB per day of shared data; that is a different fit for sustained laptop work.

The fixed data offers do not promise an American phone number or ordinary voice minutes. Airalo displayed a separate Data / Calls / Texts category for travelers needing those features. Keep internet calling apps and carrier calls distinct when comparing the total cost.

Canada, Mexico and an onward UK visit

A USA country plan should not be assumed to include Canada or Mexico. Check a regional or separate-country product if your itinerary crosses those borders, and verify the exact territory for any island or overseas stop. For travel onward to Britain, the UK comparison covers the local data and calling options there.

Horizon’s instant support can help with installation and the data-line settings before you set off. Keep the eSIM installed while troubleshooting and use the order’s instructions. That preparation is more useful than trying to install a new profile after leaving the last reliable Wi-Fi connection.

How Holafly’s unlimited option compares

Holafly’s USA product page published a 7-day unlimited plan at US$27.50 in its USD duration table. That is a different allowance, duration and currency from the fixed 30-day EUR offers above, so we do not calculate a percentage saving against it. Check the selected currency and trip length before checkout.

The page specifies 1 GB per day for hotspot sharing, and says network fair-use measures can temporarily reduce speed. Unlimited handset data may suit heavy phone use; it does not mean unlimited tethering or the same speed in every situation. Horizon’s fixed plans support hotspot using the purchased data pool.

Instant support with your Horizon plan

Horizon includes instant support for setup and connection questions. Use Horizon support if you need help installing the eSIM, selecting it for mobile data or understanding the plan before you travel. Keep your order details handy so the team can help with the right purchase.

Before buying, check device compatibility and that your phone is unlocked. Install with a stable internet connection, follow the plan’s activation instructions, and review the live USA plans for the current price and coverage.

How the prices were checked

This is a Horizon-authored comparison. Research date: 19 September 2026. Editorial owner: Lurian Kasumaj. Fixed-plan prices are public EUR quotes from the providers’ own product pages, with 5 GB or 10 GB total data and 30-day validity. Public sale prices are included where labelled. Account rewards, subscriptions, affiliate coupons and first-order discounts are excluded. Regional country lists can differ even when allowance and validity match.

Every provider name in the comparison links to its source. Holafly’s separately reported USD quote is left in its published currency, without an exchange-rate conversion. Prices can change after this check; the linked product page and checkout take precedence. This research compares published offers and features, not measured network performance or support response times.
