An Albania itinerary can start with the airport bus into Tirana, follow the coast from Vlorë toward Sarandë and finish in Theth. For a city stay the useful things are small and frequent: the current stop, an opening time, a place that is still serving, the entrance of a flat with no name on the door. Note the number of the bus back and the nearest landmark before your first evening out, because the newer blocks can look alike after dark.

The official Riviera route runs from Vlorë through Llogara and coastal villages toward Sarandë and Ksamil. Use data for road changes, boat bookings and lodging messages, while keeping the next address offline for coves where reception may vary. Vlorë is also an Adriatic arrival point for ferries from Italy, though which Italian port sails here changes by operator and season. Coming off a night sailing, look at the road south before leaving the port area, because the Llogara section takes longer than the distance suggests and the villages below it are where a saved address earns its keep.
