An Accra arrival, a family stay in Kumasi and a few days around Cape Coast create different data needs. You might use a small amount every day to arrange visits, then much more on one evening of video calls. Start with those habits rather than buying the largest allowance by default.

The Ghana price difference
These fixed allowances have 30-day validity and were displayed in euros. Account rewards, coupons and subscription prices are excluded.
Airalo was substantially cheaper on this matched package. Horizon's catalogue also listed 1 GB / 7 days at €13.49 and 3 GB / 30 days at €40.19. Do not treat those smaller packages as a reason to ignore the price of the allowance you actually need. Check the current offers before purchasing.
Arrival data and a longer family visit
Save the first address, pickup arrangement and host's contact before your flight. Data is useful for updating someone about the arrival and finding the correct entrance when you reach the accommodation. Keep an offline copy so the first transfer does not depend on installing an eSIM at the airport.
A longer stay with relatives has a different pattern from a short hotel visit. Your base may have Wi-Fi, but journeys to another home, a gathering or a meeting still need mobile data. Plan the validity through the return journey and set large photo backups to run on the connection you intend to use.
What you get beyond the allowance
Horizon includes free hotspot sharing. Your laptop and phone use the same data pool, so a work session can change the budget considerably. Read Airalo's selected package details for its current network and sharing information; the list is not a network-performance test.
A local SIM can be worth considering if you need a Ghanaian number or will remain for a longer period. Check current visitor eligibility and registration with the operator. Data-only travel eSIMs should not be assumed to provide local-number services or mobile-money access simply because they connect to the internet.
Ghana is outside Horizon's Africa selection
The current Horizon Africa bundle does not include Ghana. For a Ghana-and-Nigeria visit, compare separate country packages with a regional product that explicitly includes both.
