A travel guide by Horizon eSIM

Your first few minutes in a new country are usually practical ones. Which exit leads to the train? Has the hotel sent the door code? Where is the person meeting you? A small mobile data allowance is useful precisely here: before you have found a café, unpacked your bag or worked out the local Wi-Fi.

Get connected before the first wrong turn

Prepare at home, before the airport rush. Download Horizon, claim the available offer and install the eSIM over Wi-Fi before departure. Save your accommodation address, booking reference and arrival instructions offline too. A working eSIM is convenient; a saved address is still a sensible backup.

Once you arrive in a covered destination, select the Horizon eSIM for mobile data. Turn on data roaming for that line and keep it off on your home SIM. If your phone offers automatic switching between mobile data lines, switch that off as well so it does not use your home plan unexpectedly.

Your free Europe eSIM in three steps

  1. 01

    Download Horizon

Get Horizon from the App Store for iPhone or Google Play for Android. Open the app and sign in.

  2. 02

    Claim your 1 GB

Open Europe in the app and choose 1 GB for 30 days. Verify your email if prompted, then claim the free package shown for your account.

  3. 03

    Install before you travel

Install the eSIM over Wi-Fi. At a covered destination, select Horizon for mobile data and enable roaming on that eSIM. Your first supported network connection starts the plan.

One trip can mean several borders

Paris, Zürich and Prague make very different city breaks, but the practical questions are familiar: directions, tickets, messages and the next connection. A regional eSIM can keep those tasks on one installed profile across the countries included in its package. You do not get another 1 GB each time you cross a border; you continue using the same allowance.

Check the actual coverage list before building your itinerary around a regional plan. Include the country where you land and any place you stop along the way. Between cities, tunnels and remote stretches can interrupt reception, so keep your next ticket and address available offline.

A little data for your first moments abroad

Find the route to your hotel, message someone that you have arrived or check a train connection. Your 1 GB is a shared allowance across the covered countries, not a new allowance at each border. Save videos, app updates and photo backups for Wi-Fi to make it last longer.

Treat 1 GB as a useful start, not a promise of unlimited holiday browsing. Set photo backups and app updates to Wi-Fi only, turn off autoplay where possible and check your remaining allowance in the app. If the trip grows longer or you want to stream, compare a larger package before the free data runs out.

Questions about your free Europe eSIM

Can existing customers claim it?

New and existing accounts can claim this package once while the offer is active, provided they have not already claimed it. Sign in with a verified email or Google account. Reinstalling the app does not create another claim.

Do I need a payment card?

No payment card is needed when you claim only the free package. If you add paid plans to the same order, those plans are charged at the total shown before you confirm.

Does it include the UK and Switzerland?

Check the country list above for the current package. The United Kingdom and Switzerland are included when they appear there. “Europe” does not mean every European country.

Will it work on my phone?

Your phone must support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked. The iPhone app requires iOS 15 or later, but installing the app alone does not prove eSIM compatibility. Check your exact device model and sales region before claiming.

When do the 30 days begin?

Your plan starts with the first successful connection to a supported network in a covered destination. You can install it over Wi-Fi before travelling. Installation alone does not start the 30-day validity.

What happens after I use 1 GB?

The free allowance ends when you use 1 GB or the 30-day validity expires, whichever comes first. It does not turn into a paid subscription. If you need more data, choose and pay for another plan in the app.
