For a Nigeria visit, start with the address someone is expecting you at. An airport pickup in Lagos, a meeting in Abuja and a stay with relatives can require more coordination than a fixed hotel itinerary. Mobile data is useful for sharing a location pin, checking an appointment and keeping family informed when the schedule changes.

Nigeria: matched fixed-data prices
Both providers displayed the following offers in EUR, with a total allowance valid for 30 days. No coupons, account credits or subscriptions are included.

Horizon cost less on both matched tiers. That is a price finding, not a comparison of signal or speed. Check the listed networks for the places you will use the phone, especially if most of the visit is outside the city where you arrive.
Family stays and work days need different allowances
With family, data helps keep several changing addresses and plans together. Save each host's address and contact before leaving a working connection; a message with a precise pin can be more useful than searching for a street name while someone waits for you.
For work, count video calls and laptop sharing explicitly. A package chosen for maps and messages can disappear quickly if the computer starts downloading updates. Horizon includes free hotspot sharing on every plan, but the phone and connected devices share the same purchased allowance. Decide which large downloads can wait until you have suitable Wi-Fi.
When a local SIM may fit better
A travel eSIM can be prepared before arrival on an unlocked, compatible phone. It gives you a separate travel data line while your usual SIM remains installed. A Nigerian telephone number, ordinary calls, SMS and access to a local account service are separate questions; do not infer them from an internet allowance.
For a longer stay or a local-number requirement, ask a local operator about its current visitor registration and purchase process. Compare that complete offer with the travel package rather than assuming either format is always cheaper.
Another stop in West Africa
