An Africa eSIM is useful only if it includes the places you are actually visiting. A Morocco-and-Egypt trip and a Kenya-and-Tanzania safari need different coverage, even though both itineraries are in Africa. Check that distinction before comparing the price per gigabyte.

What the Horizon Africa package includes
The current Horizon Africa selection includes Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, South Africa and Réunion: five countries and one French territory. It does not cover the entire continent. Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, Ghana, Botswana, Mauritius and Seychelles are among the destinations outside this selection.
That makes it a potential fit for a trip combining included destinations, such as Morocco and Egypt or South Africa and Réunion. It is not a suitable regional allowance for a Kenya–Tanzania itinerary. Those journeys need country packages or another regional product whose list explicitly includes both stops.
The narrower North Africa plan includes Algeria, Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia. If those are your only stops, compare it before paying for the wider selection.
Compare allowance, validity and destinations together
The following fixed-data offers all provide 5 GB with 30-day validity. Their geographical scope differs materially.

The checked Airalo Africa list excludes Morocco, Tunisia and Réunion, so it does not fit the Morocco–Egypt or South Africa–Réunion examples above.
Horizon costs less than Airalo in this matched euro allowance and duration, but offers a smaller, different territory list. These are not equivalent-coverage products. Saily was displayed in Swiss francs, so its quoted figure is not directly ranked against the euro amounts. No conversion, coupon, future credit or subscription discount is included.
For the same Horizon Africa selection, the catalogue also listed 10 GB / 30 days at €13.09 and 20 GB / 30 days at €25.99. North Africa listed 10 GB / 30 days at €10.59 and 20 GB / 30 days at €20.99. Recheck the current package and checkout total before purchase; these figures are a dated observation.
One regional allowance or several country packages?
A regional package gives you one allowance to use across its included destinations while it remains valid. Changing country does not replenish the data or start a new validity period. Choose enough time for the final stop, including travel days.
Another option is to keep an eligible Horizon eSIM installed and buy supported country packages through My eSIMs as the route develops. Adding a country is a separate purchase, not free regional coverage. Each package has its own terms, allowance and validity, and eligibility is shown for the selected profile. Keeping the eSIM is useful; assuming every future destination is included is not.
For one-country travel, compare the country offer too. A regional label does not automatically mean better value. For an itinerary outside Horizon's six-destination selection, a broader competitor package may be the more convenient purchase even if its headline price is higher.
Everyday use and reception
The useful moments are often mundane: finding the airport pickup point, sending a hotel address, checking a booking or contacting family after a flight. Video calls, streaming and laptop sharing need a different allowance from those small tasks. Horizon includes free hotspot sharing on all plans, using the same purchased data pool.
An included country is not a signal guarantee at every location. Save tickets, essential contacts and the first transfer offline, especially before remote drives or accommodation where connectivity is uncertain. Compare each package's current network information for the places on your itinerary.
Before you buy
Write down every destination, check it against the package list, and then compare data, validity and total price. Install on a working connection using the setup guide, confirm device compatibility, and keep the profile installed if you intend to add supported plans later.
