A Cairo-to-Luxor journey and a Red Sea resort stay can use an Egypt country plan. The buying decision depends on data used away from Wi-Fi, the trip’s length and any onward country. A regional label does not improve reception inside Egypt by itself; compare the country offers before paying for a wider list.

Compare the same data allowance and validity
The fixed-data table uses total allowances with 30-day validity. Every figure is a public price in EUR. A larger allowance does not reset each day, and the price alone says nothing about reception.
| Provider | 5 GB / 30 days | 10 GB / 30 days | 20 GB / 30 days |
|---|---|---|---|
| Horizon | €4.07 | €7.96 | €15.73 |
| Airalo | €18.50 | €30.50 | €38.50 |
| Nomad | €16.00 | €24.89 | €32.89 |
| Saily | €17.99 | €30.49 | €38.49 |
At 10 GB / 30 days, Horizon costs €7.96; Nomad lists €24.89, a difference of €16.93. Compare all the rows before choosing: these are dated quotes for the listed offers, not a ranking of every provider or every possible discount.
A resort stay and a touring route need different estimates
A resort stay may leave backups and larger downloads for suitable accommodation Wi-Fi. A touring route can mean more mobile use between hotels, transfers and excursions. Download bookings and route details before leaving a Wi-Fi connection, and review the phone’s usage record before choosing an allowance.
For a Nile cruise or a desert excursion, do not treat a country listing as proof of continuous reception. Ask about the route and keep essentials available offline. A laptop or travel companion using hotspot shares the same data pool, so estimate those needs alongside the phone’s own use rather than adding them as an afterthought.
Choose the regional list that matches the next stop
Horizon’s North Africa plan includes Egypt, Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia at €10.59 for 10 GB / 30 days. The Middle East plan is €15.50 and includes Egypt, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia among its listed destinations. The United Arab Emirates is excluded from that Middle East plan.
Egypt alone is €7.96 for the same allowance and validity. The regional premiums are therefore €2.63 and €7.54. Pay for the additional coverage only when it fits a real stop. Each regional option shares its pool across its own listed countries and does not reset the data or validity at a border.
Unlimited phone data and hotspot are different
Holafly publishes a 7-day unlimited plan at US$36.50 in its USD duration table. The same page specifies 1 GB per day for hotspot sharing. That can suit heavy use on the phone, but it is not unlimited laptop data. The allowance, duration and currency differ from the fixed EUR plans above, so no percentage saving is calculated against it.
Hotspot sharing is free on every Horizon plan.
A laptop or another device uses the purchased pool alongside the phone. Include photo backups, software updates and video meetings in your estimate. For an unlimited plan from another provider, read its current fair-use and hotspot terms before buying.
Horizon fixed-data plans have no throttling.
Actual reception and speed still depend on the supported network, location, phone and congestion. This article does not contain route tests or speed measurements.
Check the phone before paying
Check device compatibility and that the phone is unlocked. Follow the installation guide over a stable internet connection before departure. Keep the eSIM installed while troubleshooting; deleting it is not a routine connection fix.
Validity does not start until your eSIM first connects to a supported mobile network at your destination.
Horizon’s listed plans are data-only. A data connection is different from a local phone number, ordinary calls or SMS. Your home carrier may still charge for calls, texts or data on its own line. Review both lines’ settings rather than assuming the travel plan changes your home contract.
Support, sources and the limits of this comparison
Horizon offers 24/7 human support in all languages, with guaranteed instant replies.
Contact Horizon support with setup or plan questions. An instant reply is not a promise of instant resolution. The refund policy explains purchase verification and how a refund is returned.
This comparison is written by Horizon; editorial owner: Lurian Kasumaj. Provider names link to the official product pages checked on 10 October 2026. EUR prices are the providers’ displayed euro prices, not our currency conversions. Holafly’s separate quote remains in USD. Public sale prices are included where labelled; subscriptions, account rewards and coupon codes are excluded. Recheck the selected plan and checkout before paying.
Short answers
Does 30-day validity mean I must stay for 30 days?
No. It is the expiry window after service begins, not a minimum stay. Compare the shorter plan’s actual price before assuming it costs less, and allow for your arrival and departure dates.
Is 10 GB a daily allowance?
No. In this comparison, 10 GB is the total pool for the plan. Sharing it with another device does not create a second allowance. Check your own recent mobile-data use and leave room for travel days.
