Keep a Cayenne address, a Kourou appointment and your next transfer together with a French Guiana data-only eSIM. Use mobile data where reception is available, with access dependent on the handset, local network and terrain. Inland river travel needs its own offline preparation.
French Guiana is part of France on South America's Atlantic coast, between Suriname and Brazil. Roads connect the main coastal settlements, but much of the forested interior is reached by river or small aircraft. A stay around Cayenne and Rémire-Montjoly therefore has different communication needs from work in Kourou or a family visit along the Maroni. Treat a named town as an itinerary reference, not evidence that the eSIM reaches every nearby forest camp or river landing.

Check eSIM support and that your phone is unlocked before installing over Wi-Fi. Cayenne–Félix Eboué Airport is at Matoury, outside central Cayenne; save the pickup arrangement with the address of your first overnight stop. At the destination, enable the installed line, select it for mobile data and follow its data-roaming instructions. Installing the profile does not start the validity period; it starts when the eSIM first connects to a supported network in French Guiana. Keep the installation details accessible separately from the phone carrying the profile.

Pick the profile closest to your trip. The estimate assumes normal use — maps, messaging, photos, a short call home.
As a rule of thumb, a 3–4 day city break runs on about 1–3 GB, a one-week trip on 3–5 GB, a two-week multi-country tour on 8–12 GB, and working on the road takes about 1 GB a day, so 15 GB or more for two weeks.
In total, a 3 GB data allowance covers roughly 1,000 shared photos, 50 hours of social media and browsing, 8.8 hours of video calls, 38 hours of music streaming, or about 600 hours of maps and navigation. Messaging apps barely use data.
Cayenne · City guide
Cayenne's centre, Matoury and the residential coast at Rémire-Montjoly are separate addresses in the same arrival area. Save a precise entrance for a family home or office rather than a general city pin. Data can help with meeting changes when a connection is available, while a written pickup plan handles an arrival without reception.
Cayenne eSIM — set up before you flyKourou · City guide
Kourou sits west of Cayenne and is associated with the Guiana Space Centre. A professional visit, a booked visitor programme and a boat departure each have different check-in arrangements. Keep the organiser's instructions and the correct meeting point, and confirm access requirements before travelling from your accommodation.
Kourou eSIM — set up before you flySaint-Laurent-du-Maroni · City guide
Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni faces Albina across the Maroni. A riverside meeting is not necessarily an international crossing, and a crossing needs separate entry and transport arrangements. Save the host's bank of the river and landing point explicitly; a French Guiana plan does not add Suriname to its destination list.
Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni eSIM — set up before you flySaint-Georges · City guide
Saint-Georges lies by the Oyapock, across from Oiapoque in Brazil. Arrange the final pickup and check border formalities before setting out along the coast. Roads, river journeys and remote forest locations can have reception gaps, so carry the full route and essential contacts in a form you can read without data.
Saint-Georges eSIM — set up before you flyWhy Horizon
Use the displayed allowance and validity to judge whether the offer fits the entire stay, including the final transfer back to Matoury. Horizon plans include free personal hotspot sharing; a compatible device lets a work laptop use the same allowance as the phone. Horizon fixed-data plans have no throttling. Large document transfers can still exhaust a fixed allowance, and network conditions govern performance. For river or forest work, arrange communications with the local host independently of this mobile-data purchase.

Choose country, regional or global coverage and check every destination in the plan details.
No. French Guiana is a French territory east of Suriname; Guyana is a separate country west of Suriname. Check the exact destination name on the offer, especially if a regional journey includes all three places.
Do not infer the product's destination list from French Guiana's constitutional status. Check that French Guiana is named explicitly. A France or Europe label on another offer does not by itself establish inclusion here.
Save the lodging address, the agreed driver or host contact and the pickup instructions before flying. The airport is at Matoury, so a central Cayenne map pin is not a complete arrival plan.
Reception can fall away beyond settlements and along remote river stretches. This country plan is not a promise of interior coverage. Ask the host about the actual route and organise an alternative contact method where needed.
Albina is in Suriname and Oiapoque is in Brazil. Neither is included merely because it is across a border river from French Guiana. Arrange data for the onward country and verify the crossing independently.
Keep the operator's return instructions and booking offline before boarding. Islands, open water and landing places can have different reception conditions from Kourou, and a land-based plan does not provide a maritime connection.
It provides mobile data only, without a local phone number, ordinary calls or SMS. For a host who requires a telephone contact, settle that contact method before leaving Wi-Fi rather than assuming this profile supplies one.
No. Horizon fixed-data plans have no throttling. There is no daily limit that slows you down, so you can use your whole plan in one day if you need to. Your speed depends on the local network, your signal and how busy the network is. When your data allowance is used up, the plan stops rather than slowing down.
