Saint Vincent and the Grenadines eSIM for Kingstown and Bequia

Compare Saint Vincent and the Grenadines eSIM plans for Kingstown, the volcano and waterfalls of mainland St Vincent, Bequia's Admiralty Bay, and the southern islands out to Union Island and the Tobago Cays. Count the ferry and sailing days, then check exactly where the territory ends.

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is one main island and a long chain of smaller ones. St Vincent itself is steep and volcanic, with La Soufrière, which last erupted in 2021, at its northern end, and Kingstown, the capital, on the south-west coast. The Grenadines stretch south towards Grenada: Bequia, Mustique, Canouan, Mayreau, Union Island and many smaller cays. Carriacou and Petite Martinique, near the southern end of the chain, belong to Grenada instead. Argyle International on St Vincent, opened in 2017, is the main airport, and small planes and ferries link the islands.

How eSIM works in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

Install the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines profile at home over Wi-Fi and keep the order details in a second place. Many visitors connect through Barbados or Saint Lucia, which are separate territories, so keep the travel line off until you reach St Vincent or your Grenadine island. On arrival, switch the travel line on, set it for mobile data and enable data roaming for it. Installing the profile does not start the validity period; it starts when the eSIM first connects to a supported network in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Save ferry schedules and any charter itinerary offline before the first crossing.

Size it to your trip

Pick the profile closest to your trip. The estimate assumes normal use — maps, messaging, photos, a short call home.

As a rule of thumb, a 3–4 day city break runs on about 1–3 GB, a one-week trip on 3–5 GB, a two-week multi-country tour on 8–12 GB, and working on the road takes about 1 GB a day, so 15 GB or more for two weeks.

In total, a 10 GB data allowance covers roughly 3,300 shared photos, 167 hours of social media and browsing, 29 hours of video calls, 125 hours of music streaming, or about 2000 hours of maps and navigation. Messaging apps barely use data.

Kingstown

Kingstown is the capital and commercial centre, a busy harbour town of stone warehouses, arcades and a central market on the south-west coast of St Vincent. Its Botanical Gardens, founded in 1765, are among the oldest in the Western Hemisphere, and Fort Charlotte stands on a headland above the town. The ferry terminal for Bequia and the southern Grenadines is in the centre. Argyle International is a drive away on the east coast, so plan the transfer and keep the ferry departure time saved offline.

Why Horizon

Choose for the ferries and the sailing days

A week on St Vincent with hikes and waterfalls, a Bequia stay with day trips, and a yacht charter down to the Tobago Cays all use a phone in different ways. A charter in particular spends long hours at anchor or between islands, where a signal may not reach. Count the days, including arrival and departure, before choosing the validity, and check that the offer names Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The southern end of the chain borders Grenada, and a stop in Carriacou or Petite Martinique leaves the territory.

Frequently asked questions

Does a Saint Vincent and the Grenadines plan cover Carriacou?

No. Carriacou and Petite Martinique sit at the southern end of the Grenadines chain, but they belong to Grenada, a separate country, and the boundary runs just south of Union Island and Petit St Vincent. Charter yachts and ferries often cross it, sometimes on the same day as a Tobago Cays visit, and there is a customs and immigration step at the border. Read the destination list on the offer, and either choose one that names both countries, or carry a separate plan for the Grenada leg.

How do I get to Bequia and the southern Grenadines?

By ferry or small plane. Passenger and car ferries run from Kingstown to Bequia several times a day, taking about an hour, and other services continue further south to Canouan, Mayreau and Union Island on less frequent schedules. Small planes link St Vincent with Bequia, Canouan, Mustique and Union Island. Timetables change with the season and the weather, so confirm departures close to the date and save tickets, piers and the next accommodation address offline.

Can I hike La Soufrière?

When access is open, yes, with a guide. The volcano last erupted in April 2021, and access to the summit trails has since depended on the current alert level and on repairs to the routes. The classic hike climbs from the windward side through forest and over loose volcanic ground to the crater rim, and it takes a good part of a day. Check the current status with local authorities and guides before planning, start early and save the guide's contact offline.

Will I have data on a yacht charter in the Grenadines?

Expect it to vary. Near the larger islands and busy anchorages a phone may find a signal, but between islands and at remote anchorages such as the Tobago Cays it may not, and the result depends on the handset, the plan and the exact location. Treat data as a convenience rather than a safety tool on the water: download the itinerary, port contacts and weather information before leaving the marina, and use the yacht's own navigation and communication equipment for anything that matters.

Can I visit Mustique?

Mustique is a privately managed island known for its villas, and access is controlled. Most guests arrive by small plane or yacht as part of a villa or hotel booking, and visiting yachts can usually come ashore at Britannia Bay under the island's rules. There are only a few public places, so plan your visit through your charter skipper or accommodation. Because services are limited, save the arrangements, contacts and return details offline before leaving the main islands.

What does hurricane season mean for the Grenadines?

The Atlantic season runs from 1 June to 30 November, and Hurricane Beryl in July 2024 showed that storms can strike early, causing severe damage on Union Island and other southern Grenadines. Many charter companies and hotels adjust their seasons around this period. Choose flexible bookings for summer and autumn, follow official forecasts in the days before travel, and check that the businesses on your route are open, especially on the smaller islands.

Why does the phone lose data between the islands?

The open water between the Grenadines, the far side of the reefs and the steep valleys of St Vincent are where reception is most likely to fade, and what a handset finds varies with the device, the plan and the exact spot. When you are ashore again, check that the travel line is switched on, selected for mobile data and has data roaming enabled, then restart the phone if it stays offline. Save ferry tickets, charter plans and accommodation details offline before each crossing.

Will Horizon slow down my data?

No. Horizon fixed-data plans have no throttling. There is no daily limit that slows you down, so you can use your whole plan in one day if you need to. Your speed depends on the local network, your signal and how busy the network is. When your data allowance is used up, the plan stops rather than slowing down.

Can I get a refund if I already used some data?

Yes. We always refund the full amount you paid when you request it, whether your eSIM is unused, partly used or fully used. There is no time limit for requesting a refund.
