Compare Suriname eSIM data for Paramaribo work or family visits, the road towards Nieuw Nickerie and an arranged inland stay. Distinguish the international airport transfer from any later river or domestic-air journey when choosing your plan.
Suriname's capital and coastal towns sit on a different transport pattern from the forested interior. Johan Adolf Pengel International Airport is at Zanderij, outside Paramaribo; a city stay therefore begins with a road transfer. A journey west towards Nieuw Nickerie follows the populated coastal part of the country, while an Upper Suriname River address may require a separately organised boat stage. Mobile reception can vary between town, rural road, forest and river. Keep interior arrangements independent of a continuous data connection.

Before flying to Zanderij, check your phone's unlocked status and eSIM support, then install the Suriname profile on Wi-Fi. Keep the pickup details and the Paramaribo accommodation or family address saved without needing to open an online booking. In Suriname, select the travel profile for mobile data and enable roaming for it as instructed in the order. Installing the profile does not start the validity period; it starts when the eSIM first connects to a supported network in Suriname. If a later flight uses Zorg en Hoop airfield in Paramaribo, save that departure point separately from the international airport.

Pick the profile closest to your trip. The estimate assumes normal use — maps, messaging, photos, a short call home.
As a rule of thumb, a 3–4 day city break runs on about 1–3 GB, a one-week trip on 3–5 GB, a two-week multi-country tour on 8–12 GB, and working on the road takes about 1 GB a day, so 15 GB or more for two weeks.
In total, a 3 GB data allowance covers roughly 1,000 shared photos, 50 hours of social media and browsing, 8.8 hours of video calls, 38 hours of music streaming, or about 600 hours of maps and navigation. Messaging apps barely use data.
Paramaribo · City guide
Paramaribo is the base for many administrative, business and family stays. A street address in the capital, an arrival at Zanderij and a departure from Zorg en Hoop are three different locations. Verify the gateway on every ticket and keep each pickup instruction with the corresponding journey.
Paramaribo eSIM — set up before you flyNieuw Nickerie · City guide
Nieuw Nickerie lies near Suriname's western border and is a reference point for travel towards the Corantijn River. If an itinerary continues to Guyana, confirm the crossing and receiving transport independently. Save the western road route and host address before leaving Paramaribo rather than relying on a live search at each stop.
Nieuw Nickerie eSIM — set up before you flyAlbina · City guide
Albina is on the Suriname side of the river opposite Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni in French Guiana. A town visit and an international crossing are different arrangements, with separate document and service requirements. Prepare the onward contact and current official crossing information before approaching the river.
Albina eSIM — set up before you flyUpper Suriname River area · City guide
An Upper Suriname River stay names a broad area rather than one town reachable by following a city-centre pin. Arrange the exact landing place, host and return with the responsible organiser. Forest, river bends and remote settlements can leave long gaps in mobile reception, so keep the route and agreed check-in procedure offline.

For a Paramaribo stay, compare data against work transfers, family messages and any connected laptop. An inland leg still needs validity through the return, even if opportunities to use mobile data are limited. The service is data-only; it does not promise forest or river reception. Guyana, French Guiana and Brazil are separate destinations, and the Netherlands is not included through Suriname's language or historical connections. Choose coverage for every country explicitly listed on the itinerary.

No. It is at Zanderij outside the capital, so arrange the onward road transfer. Save the host's full address and pickup instructions before flying instead of leaving the city journey dependent on airport reception.
No. Zorg en Hoop is an airfield in Paramaribo, while the international airport is at Zanderij. Check which departure point your actual interior-flight booking names and arrange the right transfer; not every flight uses the same gateway.
Reception may be absent along the river and in remote forested areas. Agree communications with the host or organiser, download the landing and return details, and do not treat mobile data as the only way to coordinate the journey.
It does not. Guyana needs its own listed coverage. Confirm the actual crossing, documents and onward pickup separately, and keep those arrangements offline before leaving the Suriname side.
No. French Guiana is a separate destination for this service. The short distance across the Marowijne does not extend the Suriname plan; check coverage and current official border arrangements before planning the next stage.
Hotspot sharing is free on every Horizon plan. A compatible handset and suitable settings allow connected devices to use the same fixed allowance. Horizon fixed-data plans have no throttling. Include work uploads and cloud backups in the data calculation, not only the phone's map use.
It supplies data and no local phone number. Agree an internet contact method and the meeting procedure before leaving the coastal towns, and ensure the host knows what to do if a message cannot be sent during the river transfer.
No. Horizon fixed-data plans have no throttling. There is no daily limit that slows you down, so you can use your whole plan in one day if you need to. Your speed depends on the local network, your signal and how busy the network is. When your data allowance is used up, the plan stops rather than slowing down.
