Czech Republic eSIM comparison: Prague, EU roaming and price
Popular Czech Republic plans

Czechia is in the EU, so check your own SIM first: a plan from an EU or EEA country may already cover a Prague trip at home prices, within its fair-use limits. If you travel on a UK plan or a SIM from outside the EU and EEA, or your EU roaming allowance is small, compare a Czech Republic eSIM. Here are the checked 5 GB and 10 GB data-only prices for 30 days.

Prices checked 1 October 2026. Horizon includes instant support and free hotspot sharing; current prices and availability are on the linked plan pages.

Matched fixed-data prices

  • Horizon: 5 GB / 30 days €2.60; 10 GB / 30 days €5.01.
  • Saily: 5 GB / 30 days €6.99; 10 GB / 30 days €13.49.
  • Airalo: 5 GB / 30 days €7.50; 10 GB / 30 days €14.00.
  • Ubigi: no 5 GB / 30-day plan; 10 GB / 30 days €14.00.
  • Nomad: 5 GB / 30 days €10.97; 10 GB / 30 days €14.04.

Horizon has the lowest price among the fixed-data offers above for both allowances. At 5 GB / 30 days, Saily's €6.99 is next, €4.39 above Horizon's €2.60. At 10 GB / 30 days, Saily's €13.49 is next, €8.48 above Horizon's €5.01; Airalo and Ubigi both list €14.00, and Nomad lists €14.04. This is a comparison of the displayed package totals; it does not establish better signal or identical coverage.

EU roaming: who still needs a Czech eSIM

The EU's roam-like-at-home rules let a SIM from an EU or EEA country use data in Czechia at domestic prices, within the fair-use limits its operator sets. A travel eSIM is still worth pricing if:

  • you travel on a UK plan, where EU roaming depends on your operator and some tariffs add a daily fee;
  • your SIM is from outside the EU and EEA, for example the Western Balkans, Turkey, the Middle East or North America;
  • your EU plan's roaming data allowance is too small for your stay.

Our guide on when EU roaming is enough explains where the rule stops.

Short visits: 7-day plans

For a long weekend in Prague, Horizon lists 5 GB for 7 days at €2.49, €0.11 below its 30-day plan, and 10 GB for 7 days at €5.01, the same as the 30-day plan. Airalo's 7-day plans cost €6.50 for 5 GB and €13.00 for 10 GB, and Ubigi lists 10 GB for 7 days at €12.00. Saily and Nomad listed no 5 GB or 10 GB plan shorter than 30 days.

Larger allowances: the order behind Horizon changes

Horizon lists 20 GB for 30 days at €9.84. Nomad lists 20 GB / 30 days at €17.55, Saily at €21.49 and Airalo at €22.00, so Nomad moves from the highest competitor price at 5 GB to the lowest at 20 GB.

Horizon has no 30-day 50 GB plan; its 50 GB plan for 180 days costs €24.33, against 50 GB / 30 days at €32.50 from Airalo, €36.00 from Ubigi and €39.48 from Nomad. Horizon has no unlimited Czech plan; Airalo lists 7 days of unlimited data at €24.00 and Nomad at €21.93.

Prague, day trips and the Christmas markets

In Prague, data mostly goes on maps, tickets and messages. A train to Kutná Hora or a coach to Český Krumlov means hours away from Wi-Fi, and signal can vary on rural lines and in river valleys, so save offline maps and tickets first. Our Czech Republic buyer's guide covers trips out of Prague.

Prague's main Christmas markets run from late November into early January, with evenings spent away from Wi-Fi; our Christmas market dates for Germany, Austria and Prague lists the 2026 dates.

Published networks for the Czech Republic

Horizon's Czech Republic plans list O2 Czech Republic and Vodafone Czech Republic. Airalo, Nomad and Holafly also name O2 and Vodafone, Ubigi names O2 Czech Republic, and Saily's page names no network. These are provider-published network details, not field tests.

Hotspot and unlimited data are separate questions

All Horizon plans include free hotspot sharing, drawn from the same purchased allowance.

Holafly's Czech Republic product page published a 7-day unlimited plan at US$27.50 in its USD duration table and specifies 1 GB per day for hotspot sharing; its FAQ says a fair usage policy can temporarily reduce speed for up to one day. That is a different allowance and duration from the fixed 30-day offers above, so we do not calculate a saving against it. Unlimited handset data may suit heavy phone use; it does not always mean unlimited tethering, so check the hotspot terms.

Prague, Vienna and Budapest on one trip

A Czech Republic plan works only in Czechia. For a rail trip on to Vienna and Budapest, compare Horizon's Europe plan, one allowance shared across the countries it lists, including Czechia, Austria, Hungary and Slovakia, which direct Prague–Budapest trains usually cross.

  • Three 5 GB / 30-day country plans: Czechia €2.60, Austria €2.90 and Hungary €2.68, together €8.18 for three separate allowances.
  • One Europe plan: 5 GB / 30 days at €3.72 or 10 GB / 30 days at €7.27 for the whole route.

If nearly all your days are in Prague, the Czech plan costs less. Across borders, the Europe 10 GB plan costs €0.91 less than the three 5 GB country plans, in one purchase. Check the live country list; our Europe comparison for longer trips covers other providers' regional plans.

Instant support with your Horizon plan

Horizon includes instant support for setup and connection questions. Use Horizon support if you need help installing the eSIM, selecting it for mobile data or understanding the plan before you travel.

Before buying, check device compatibility and that your phone is unlocked, install over Wi-Fi, and review the live Czech Republic plans for the current price and coverage.

How the prices were checked

This is a Horizon-authored comparison. Research date: 1 October 2026. Editorial owner: Lurian Kasumaj. Fixed-plan prices are public quotes from the providers' own product pages, with the same total data and 30-day validity unless stated: in EUR for Horizon, Airalo and Saily, and for Nomad and Ubigi with their currency selectors set to EUR. Nomad's page showed US dollars by default for our connection; we used the euro prices its own selector displays. Holafly's unlimited plan is quoted from its USD duration table, without conversion. No plan quoted here carried a sale label.

Account rewards such as Saily credits, subscriptions, affiliate coupons and first-order discounts are excluded. Every provider name in the comparison links to its source. Prices can change after this check; the linked product page and checkout take precedence. This research compares published offers and features, not measured network performance or support response times.
