Plan Trinidad and Tobago eSIM data around Port of Spain appointments, family stays in San Fernando and the separate journey to Tobago. Keep both islands' accommodation and transport details ready, with an allowance for the people and devices sharing the trip.
Trinidad and Tobago is one country with two distinct travel patterns. Trinidad's airport is at Piarco, away from Port of Spain, and road journeys connect the capital with central and southern communities. Tobago has its own airport at Crown Point and a ferry gateway at Scarborough. A booking that changes islands therefore adds a flight or sea crossing, plus another pickup. Hills in Trinidad's Northern Range and quieter stretches of Tobago are different reception settings from built-up areas. Do not judge the whole itinerary by the connection at your first hotel.

Install over Wi-Fi on an unlocked phone that supports eSIM, and label the travel line so it is easy to distinguish from your home SIM. Save the Piarco airport pickup or the Tobago arrival instructions appropriate to your ticket. Once in the country, choose Horizon for mobile data and turn on that line's data roaming, leaving automatic switching to home data disabled. Installing the profile does not start the validity period; it starts when the eSIM first connects to a supported network in Trinidad and Tobago. This plan is data-only, with reception affected by terrain, buildings and network conditions.

Pick the profile closest to your trip. The estimate assumes normal use — maps, messaging, photos, a short call home.
As a rule of thumb, a 3–4 day city break runs on about 1–3 GB, a one-week trip on 3–5 GB, a two-week multi-country tour on 8–12 GB, and working on the road takes about 1 GB a day, so 15 GB or more for two weeks.
In total, a 1 GB data allowance covers roughly 330 shared photos, 17 hours of social media and browsing, 2.9 hours of video calls, 13 hours of music streaming, or about 200 hours of maps and navigation. Messaging apps barely use data.
Port of Spain · City guide
Port of Spain sits on Trinidad's northwestern coast below the Northern Range. Work addresses, family gatherings and events around Queen's Park Savannah can put several different entrances on the day's itinerary. Agree a recognisable meeting place before a crowded event, and store the address of your return accommodation instead of depending on a live message exchange in a crowd.
Port of Spain eSIM — set up before you flySan Fernando · City guide
San Fernando is a separate southern city beside the Gulf of Paria, not a neighbourhood of Port of Spain. A family visit can include homes and appointments outside the centre, so obtain the local directions as well as the map pin. Save your host's preferred pickup location and the return journey before travelling down from the capital or Piarco.
San Fernando eSIM — set up before you flyScarborough · City guide
Scarborough is on Tobago's southern coast and serves as the island's ferry gateway. Arriving here puts you in a different place from landing at the Crown Point airport. Confirm which arrival your host expects, retain the booking reference and allow for the onward road journey to your accommodation. Ferry reception should not be treated as continuous between the islands.
Scarborough eSIM — set up before you flyCrown Point · City guide
Crown Point is the airport area at Tobago's southwestern end, close to Store Bay and Pigeon Point. It can serve as a base for a short island stay, but an outing toward the Main Ridge or the northeastern villages is another road journey. Load those routes before setting out, since wooded hills and quieter coastal stretches may interrupt mobile reception.
Crown Point eSIM — set up before you flyWhy Horizon
The useful allowance is the one that fits your own combination of family messages, road directions and work files. Count the Tobago transfer days in the validity, and remember that waiting for a sailing still uses part of the trip even when the phone is offline. Horizon fixed-data plans have no throttling. Horizon includes free personal hotspot sharing on a compatible handset for your Trinidad and Tobago stay, so a laptop or another family device uses the same allowance. Neighbouring islands and Venezuela require separately listed coverage; closeness on a Caribbean map does not add them to a country plan.

This page is for the country Trinidad and Tobago. Check that exact country in the chosen offer, then assess the locations you will visit on each island. Inclusion of the country does not mean reception on every road, beach or stretch of water between them.
Scarborough is the Tobago ferry arrival; Crown Point is the airport area. Send the actual booking details to the person meeting you, since choosing the wrong arrival point creates an unnecessary journey across the island.
Do not rely on it. The vessel can travel beyond land-network reception even though both endpoints are within the country. Save the ticket and the pickup instructions before boarding, and send essential arrival updates when a connection is available.
Keep the organiser's directions, event entrance and a fallback meeting place saved on each person's phone. Large crowds can make mobile service less predictable, so agree a meeting time as well as a location instead of relying only on messages.
Neither destination is added by a Trinidad and Tobago country plan. Read the destination list for a separate or broader offer before making that leg, and check the relevant entry and transport requirements independently of the eSIM.
For a San Fernando family stay, Horizon includes free personal hotspot sharing with a compatible device and the correct settings. Everyone using that hotspot draws from one allowance, so count shared browsing and laptop work alongside your own phone use.
Buildings, wooded terrain and distance from settlements can change what the phone receives. Keep the Horizon line selected for data with its roaming enabled, but carry directions offline for Main Ridge outings and journeys to the island's quieter villages.
No. Horizon fixed-data plans have no throttling. There is no daily limit that slows you down, so you can use your whole plan in one day if you need to. Your speed depends on the local network, your signal and how busy the network is. When your data allowance is used up, the plan stops rather than slowing down.
