Europe + Kosovo eSIM

Europe + Kosovo gives you one eSIM and one shared data allowance for European routes including Kosovo, Albania, Montenegro and North Macedonia. Choose the data and validity for your whole trip and check every stop against the coverage list.

Europe + Kosovo is for a journey that goes beyond the standard Europe + UK coverage. It includes the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy and Switzerland alongside Kosovo, Albania, Serbia and Turkey. For example, you can use one package from London through central Europe to Pristina. Check the complete country and territory list for every stop, including transit, rather than assuming the Europe label covers the entire continent.

How eSIM works in Europe + Kosovo

Install the Europe + Kosovo eSIM on Wi-Fi before departure; there is no separate manual activation step. Validity does not start until the eSIM first connects to a supported mobile network in an included destination. That can be Germany or another country on the way, not only Kosovo, so keep the Horizon line off until you want to use it. Then choose Horizon for mobile data and enable data roaming on that line. At each later border, keep the profile installed and give the phone time to find a supported local network.

  1. Buy a plan

Pick a destination, data allowance and validity period.

  2. Install your eSIM

Scan the QR or auto-install in the app — no physical SIM.

  3. Land & connect

Data activates on first connection at your destination.

Size it to your trip

Pick the profile closest to your trip. The estimate assumes normal use — maps, messaging, photos, a short call home.

As a rule of thumb, a 3–4 day city break runs on about 1–3 GB, a one-week trip on 3–5 GB, a two-week multi-country tour on 8–12 GB, and working on the road takes about 1 GB a day, so 15 GB or more for two weeks.

In total, a 25 GB data allowance covers roughly 8,300 shared photos, 417 hours of social media and browsing, 74 hours of video calls, 313 hours of music streaming, or about 5000 hours of maps and navigation. Messaging apps barely use data.

Why Horizon

One eSIM for a wider route

Choose Europe + Kosovo when the extra destinations solve a real gap in your itinerary. A stay in Switzerland followed by Kosovo, or a journey from Germany through Serbia to Turkey, can use one shared data balance. If your whole trip fits Europe + UK or the standard Balkans package, compare those offers too. The wider zone is useful for the stops it adds; choose the data amount and validity for the complete journey.

Frequently asked questions

Which eSIM plan covers the Balkans including Kosovo?

Europe + Kosovo includes Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro and North Macedonia in one package, alongside the other destinations on its coverage list. Use one eSIM and one shared data allowance across those stops, without buying a separate Kosovo plan or switching eSIM profiles at each border.

Which destinations does Europe + Kosovo cover?

The selected Europe + Kosovo package covers 56 countries and territories: Albania, Andorra, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Belarus, Switzerland, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, Spain, Estonia, Finland, France, Faroe Islands, United Kingdom, Georgia, Guernsey, Gibraltar, Greece, Croatia, Hungary, Isle of Man, Ireland, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Jersey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Latvia, Moldova, Republic of, North Macedonia, Malta, Montenegro, Mayotte, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russian Federation, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Turkey, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Kosovo. This is a defined coverage zone, not a promise to cover every European country. Check your transit stops as well as your main destination before purchase.

How does it differ from Europe + UK and Balkans?

Europe + Kosovo is a separate package with a wider coverage list that includes Kosovo. The standard Europe + UK and Balkans offers remain separate choices with their own coverage and prices. Compare every stop on your route; their data allowances do not combine with Europe + Kosovo.

When does the validity period start?

Installing the profile does not start it. Validity does not start until the eSIM first connects to a supported mobile network in an included destination. If you use the eSIM in an included country on the way, Germany for example, before you reach Kosovo, those days already count towards the validity you chose.

Do I get a new allowance in each country?

No. The data amount you purchase is shared across all included destinations. Crossing from Croatia to Montenegro or Kosovo does not reset the balance or restart the validity. Choose a package for the whole journey and monitor its remaining data as you travel.

Can I share data with a laptop or travel companion?

Hotspot sharing is free on every Horizon plan. On a compatible phone, turn on the personal hotspot and connect your laptop or a companion's device. Every connected device uses the same Europe + Kosovo allowance, so count their video calls, downloads and navigation when you choose the data size.

Can I keep my WhatsApp and phone number with the Europe + Kosovo eSIM?

Yes. WhatsApp stays linked to your usual number and runs on the eSIM's data. On a dual-SIM phone, your usual SIM can stay on for ordinary calls and texts. Your home carrier may charge for calls, texts or data on that line, so turn off data roaming there.

Does the Europe + Kosovo eSIM include calls and texts?

No. Horizon plans are data-only, with no phone number for calls or texts. Use apps such as WhatsApp or FaceTime over the eSIM's data, or keep your usual SIM on for ordinary calls and texts.

Do I need to turn on data roaming for the Europe + Kosovo eSIM?

Yes. A travel eSIM connects to local networks as a roaming line, so turn on data roaming for the Horizon eSIM when you arrive. The plan is prepaid, so Horizon does not bill you after checkout. Keep data roaming off on your usual SIM to avoid charges from your home carrier.

What happens if I run out of data on the Europe + Kosovo eSIM?

You can buy more. If your plan supports a top-up, My eSIMs shows the data you can add to the same eSIM. If it does not, buy another Europe + Kosovo plan and install it the same way.

Will my phone work with the Europe + Kosovo eSIM?

It will if your phone supports eSIM and is not locked to your home carrier. Many recent iPhone and Android models do, but some regional versions do not, so check your exact model on the supported devices page before you buy.

See supported devices
Will Horizon slow down my data?

No. Horizon fixed-data plans have no throttling. There is no daily limit that slows you down, so you can use your whole plan in one day if you need to. Your speed depends on the local network, your signal and how busy the network is. When your data allowance is used up, the plan stops rather than slowing down.

Can I get a refund if I already used some data?

Yes. We always refund the full amount you paid when you request it, whether your eSIM is unused, partly used or fully used. There is no time limit for requesting a refund.
